ICT as Constructivist tools



ICT has brought about unprecedented change in the society allowing people from distance to communicate in fix time using information technologist. Moreover, Internet, World Wide Web as a part of ICT has contributed to the quality of learning materials. Through ICT any number of learners from anywhere and at any time can easily have access to a large number of resources.

learning is a social construction where we make meaning of knowledge through interaction. Constructivists  believe that knowledge can be created and recreated which demands active involvement of the learners to discover new knowledge. ICT seems pervasive throughout the learning endeavor in higher education, but it still requires intensive efforts to be meaningful in addressing the learners' need of  learning in the present world.

ICT has also given opportunities to the students for asynchronous learning through recorded programs. So, ICT as a constructivist tools emphasizes that learning is an active, contextual and social. it also talks about technology-adoption as a process of involving social groups into the innovation process where learning takes place on the learners' experiences, knowledge, habits and preferences.

learning as a social process taking place in and outside the classroom. Classrooms are social bodies where students interact with each other and their instructors for knowledge construction. There seems to be a consensus among different constructivist like that learners construct knowledge through social interactions with each other. ICT has also been contributed to building up knowledge profoundly. learning is an internal, unobservant process that results in changes of belief, attitude, or skills while knowledge building , by contrast, results in the creation or modification of public knowledge. ICT helps to access, create, share, build and continually improve ideas of sharing and creating knowledge.
The most common tools can be Power point, words and spreadsheets, which allows finest presentation ideas and information.


We designed a simulated advertisement using a powerpoint presentation which requires us to explore and gather information to bring up an effective and attractive simulation. Thus, this activity made us think, explore gave experience and supports a contructivist tools in learning.

ICT as communication tools

Communications are applications which enable easy communication through internet connection. We can receive and instant messages and it do not limits communication by space, time or both in the classroom.   These tools are social networks that binds people around the globe. We use communication tools such as face book, messenger, we-chat, twitter, emails, zoom, and etc.
we can use them whenever we have messages to be delivered or want to meet them.Communication can take place either face to face or through text messages or voice messages. To use video conference the both the user should be online and need to immediate response. The other one is we can drop messages any time and receiver will can view any time and respond. It is categorized into two category based how it enables communication.  There are synchronous and asynchronous. Synchronous is also called a real tome communication, in which users must be simultaneously connected, rather like a phone call. It gives real time communication and can be used for instructional activities that require higher degree of interaction. It also helps solving urgent problems or issues. Example could be like zoom,google meet etc.,
  Asynchronous is not requiring the people communicating to be logged on the internet at the same time.
Communication tool have impact on all the people across the globe. It also plays a significant role in teaching and learning. Nowadays, teaching and learning can take place without having to meet in the classroom. These stakeholders can use communication tools.
We can integrate technology based on availability of resources.Social networking sites, email, video conference and online chat can be used for educational purposes. Teachers and upload notes in online and let the student read the notes.
In order to make it more comprehensible teacher can upload videos for the student that is related to the topic. As a follow up they can post online education forums. We chat can be also use for interaction. Whether to see the effectiveness of lesson teacher can conduct online test or course work that they can conduct in online. This will help to becoming teaching and learning in more smooth and engaging.
However, there is still disadvantage to primary students, accessibility of internet, students with low economic backgrounds and incompetent skills of the users. So communication tools is not feasible like meeting in classroom to learn in our economy.
I see VLE discussion is more effective for communicating with my friends and teacher.
In this platform we can perform multiple task such as chat, uploading notes, and submitting assignments and get variety of information related to topic in different forms. We can also keep tracking of our learning since there is calendar and we can also post our doubts. We can get any responses from tutor as well as friend. When tutors upload the information in video, audio, text, graphics and etc. This help me to understand more on the topic. My maths tutors always upload videos on the content we are learning and give us assignment. I can easily complement my assignment using videos and I also get more information from the video. This is forum is more convenient as I can login whenever I want and check what is going in the particular module. To communicate I do need to response immediately. The video tutorial provided my tutors on VLE help me to carry out the task that I was not able to perform on my own. All thanks to communicative tools that learning can take place even beyond the classroom walls.

ICT as a Informative tools


Information tool is application which provides vast information to assist the learners. The information help our student to absorb adequate information on the particular topic. Thisenable them to learn more. The information are presented in the form of text, image, graphics, sound and video. This powerful features of information tools motivates and provide authentic learning environment. Text includes characters that are used to create letters, words, sentence, and paragraph. It is in the form of article.
 Image is pictorial representation of the information and whole meaning is summarized in the picture.The interpretation from viewers will differ from each other as every individual has different ways of perception. Graphics are use of animation to simplify the concept and improve memory retention. Sound is provides audio information and it is useful or audio earners. Video is combination of text, image, and sound and displayed on the computer monitor or television screen.
I think internets as a source of information is faster in disseminating information. Most of our people use internet as it provides us instant messages and information within a few seconds.It is more convenient and easily accessible through internet. If you want information, you just need to browse to obtain it. There will be millions of result for your topic in the few second.

It also have facilities to share your work through web pages, blogs and e learning system. With this you will be able to read and look into different ideas and information on the same topic. You can work on it to improve and redefine your ideas. The internet covers wide arrange of people and every individual can learn from it. Most people have access to internet through smart phones. Social media is popular and adaptable with our people irrespective of culture, education, economic and social background. They used to disseminate information in multiple ways in the form of text, voice, and video. The voice and videos helps illiterate and people with disabilities to keep updated on what is happening around the world.
For example, in the Google application, you can search your information using voice typing. This saves times and cater the need of people with physical disability. Students are enjoying a greater privileges of internet, since they can access any information that I need in their everyday learning.

Information tools is essential tool in teaching and learning. It creates a wide learning opportunities for learning. We can use information tools as a supplementary information on the content, teaching and learning materials, resource materials, and to evaluate and generating meaning. In the classroom learning, we can let the student explore by assigning them a topic and references. Information tools such as sound, videos, graphics, and animations have given new phase to learning. The concepts those are difficult to explain are simplified and explained using animation, graphics and videos.
The colorful pictures, music and sound is entertaining to them.  Student could articulate more easily and motivated them to learn. The teachers acts as facilitators, student take responsibility for their own learning. Since, they can use information tools as a resource. As a result, they become independent learners. The traditional teaching approach is transformed by these information tools. It has changed the way students learn.
